Let’s face it – our holidays are the happiest when vintage cars are included!

Here at the Daily Driver Project, we’re suckers for holiday decor that has anything to do with classic cars.  Imagine our delight as we motored along the 5 freeway and saw this…

Yep.  That’s Santa in a Nash convertible.  We know the overwhelmingly popular image of Santa includes a sleigh, but we like to think that Santa prefers a different type of vintage ride.  In fact, if Santa had his choice, we think he’d opt for something classy like this Nash.  We also think he’d switch up his classic rides each year (you can bet he has quite a few in his North Pole garage), even opting for something with a little power under the hood (after all, it has to make up for what all those reindeer normally do), perhaps a V8, or a really souped-up hot rod, complete with supercharger!

Each year, Dunkel Bros. (A.K.A. Orange County Warehousing and Machinery Moving) pulls out all the stops to delight passers-by with the full holiday regalia.  You may not be familiar with Dunkel Bros., but our guess is that you are familiar with their work.  After all, they were responsible for moving the Space Shuttle Endeavor from the LAX Airport to its new home at the California Science Center.

The holiday dioramas don’t end there.  This one is filled with two scenes…

… one depicting Christmas by the fireside…

… and the next one detailing a treat-filled toy land.

And what holiday display would be complete without a leg lamp?  There’s even a Red Rider off to the left!  Wes and I can’t make it though Christmas Eve without watching A Christmas Story!

Special thanks to Dunkel Bros. for making our holidays bright, and filled with vintage automotive goodness!

We wish you and your family a very happy holiday season!
